I have an EVGA 780i motherboard, Q6600, and an Arctic Cooler 7 Pro HSF,

In the BIOS I have set the fan speeds manually to 100%. However, once I boot into windows, I can hear the CPU fan periodically change speeds. It gets very annoying.

I have been experiencing some CPU heat issues which makes me think my heatsink isn't working.

Any guesses on why my CPU fan is constantly changing speeds?

I`ve got the same problem, i have only stock coolers and i can say for sure - it`s something wrong with Q6600 itself. Very annoying, agree. Now I`m looking foward to buy a better cooler.

dragonsprayer, he meant rmp fluctuation (i`ve got +/- 40rmp). You can hear it and it is very annoying, makes me keep some good music on all the time :bounce: :D
