Just thought I'd post up the results of my overclocking binging from last night.

First I let my mobo run everything at auto settings.

Stock:
2.8GHZ PII 720
875/975 XFX 4890
DDR3 1066

Came up with:
3DMark06 : 13244 3D Marks
3DMark Vantage : P7987
Virtual Marks : 13900

After spending all night playing with bios settings running everything on air and stock hsf's

Oc'd:
3.4GHZ PII 720
935/1035 XFX 4890
DDR3 1600 @ 7-7-7-24

Results:
3DMark06 : 15044
3DMark Vantage : P8835
Virtual Marks : 15800

I think it all came out alright. Stress tested prime95 for three hours before running all of these. so I'm pretty happy. Can't wait to xfire and potentially oc more when I get a cpu cooler :D I'd really like to try to tighten up ram timings but that's something I still need to read a lot more on to be comfortable.

Thanks for reading,
Josh

Will this be a good build to overclock 2500k to 5.0GHz?

I'm the one that told him that a Silver Arrow will get to 5Ghz, so I'll take the blame...
