In the newegg Specifications tab, it says that the maximum supported memory is 8GB, however, I was going through the manual and it says on page 2-11 that with 64 bit OS, the max memory is 16GB.
This is great news to me as I bought it only expecting 8GB, but can anyone confirm that this board does indeed support more than 8GB (and that newegg is wrong)? [yeah, I'd generally believe the included manual over newegg, but I want to be absolutely sure]
Hey. I just bought this board + 2 of (2 x 4GB) OCZ PC6400 kits. It is working in Ubuntu Linux 64-bit with all 16GB RAM registered and working. Yay, now I can keep even bigger indexes in memory. Bit of a pain to get it to work in Linux. I had to set the SATA controller to AHCI mode. Ethernet is still not working. There appears to be patches to get it to work. The atl1e driver is needed is needed. It is supposed to be included in the 2.6.27 kernel.
