Motherboard upgrade

Hi. Im new to upgrading kit like this so some help would be great!

My current setup is:

P4 2.8 on 945G Express chipset
Nvidea 6600GT 128mb

Upgrading to:

Asus P5N-E
2x 6600GT or maybe 8600 if can find the £££s
P4 2.8

Or would i be better getting a G33/P35 board and running one 8xxx series Nvidea card?

I want the setup to boost framerates for FSX and Quake 4.
