I could not read the maxtor 4 plus drive in my computer after I used "Safely remove hardware" and click "stop" in both windows, even after I rebooted the computer.
Can somebody tell me what to do to reactivate the external drive again?

Power down. Unplug the external. Power back up. Power back down. Plug it back up. Power back up. If nothing then do the same again except plug it back in only after the second power up.

Also try plugging it into another computer.
