Hi all. I'm on the prowl for a NAS that can not just download torrents, but scan directories for downloaded torrent files and capture them as well as having some sort of scheduler. Basically the same functionality as somethng like utorrent.
I need to be able to download a torrent file on my main PC and then drag it quickly and easily into something like a shared folder where the NAS will automatically pick up on it without having to faff around loading them in some kind of web interface.
I suppose if there are any routers out there that can do this then I'd be open to suggestions!
As far as I know, plenty of NAS's have their own BT clients but I can't seem to find out if they can do what I need!
You can go for NETGEAR's ReadyNAS. It has a built-in bit torrent client which will download the data directly to the shares in the NAS. Check this link for more info.
It looks like you have to go into the RAIDiator program and tell the ReadyNas to download the file, either by pointing it at a URL or at the torrent file. This is not what I want to do every time - I want the NAS to monitor a folder for new .torrent files and start them downloading automatically.
I don't mind where they are saved. Also there's no mention of being able to set a schedule like you can in utorrent?
