I'm getting tired of it.
Tried to get my old Compaq Armada 1700 on the wireless at home

windows 2000 SP4 installed.

Card = Sweex LW0V2 Wireless Lan Cardbus 54 MBS (LW056V2)
Software card = Atheros AR5007G
Chipset = AR2417

I see the card in Networks 'config'
But in the connections it says "Network cable not connected"

I cannot find the WZC anywhere, despite running SP4

Some further info.

I looked at"
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WZCSVC
DWORD value "Start" value =2

So WZC exists....
I looked furter and read that it is 'connected' to the Ifra Red transmitter (Unfortunately the name is dutch "Infrarood")

Could that be the problem?

Should I 'kill' te IR facility?

How?

Is it in BIOS settings?

I cannot get into the bios at startup... [ESC], [DEL], [F1], [F2], [F10] keys at startup (when Compaq logo shows up) don't word.
Any idea how to get into the BIOS?
(Is there a tool to be used from Windows 2000?)
