Hello! I'm new here.
I built my current PC a couple years ago and it's served me well, but I'd like to run EVE Online with all the bells and whistles turned on so I'm going to need to upgrade my video card at least. This is what I have at the moment:
MSI K8n Neo4 Platinum motherboard
Radeon X800 video card
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.01 ghz
1GB of RAM
No sound card (just using on board sound)
What do you guys think I should do to make this setup a little more modern? I'm looking at spending maybe a 200-400 dollars.
I was browsing around for a new video card and noticed the ATI Radeon 3870 uses something called PCI-E 2.0. I think my current motherboard only has a regular PCI-E 16x slot. I've read that it should be compatible, but will the 3870 be limited at all by my current motherboard?
Thanks!
