Simple question:

I bought a Gigabyte EP45-DS3L motherboard and an E8500 CPU.

The motherboard does not support the CPU (or any wolfdale) without updating the bios first, so how did you people do it?

simple answer: can you go to the store where you bought it and have them update the bios,or get a buddy to do the same, after all you know that it does not support the wolfie cpu,or get the bios with your current setup and put it on a bootable [dos] floppy and take same to whomever you can get to use their cpu and do the update from the dos floppy....:)

buy/borrow an older cpu!

if you have a removeable bios chip (getting rare these days) pay for new one with the newest bios
