Hi all,

my current P4 machine is 6 years old, its welcome has been ended.

My need: i want to build a new machine that is under $1000 and can be use for a bit gaming and that can last me another 6 years or so. I dont know much about computer components but I am sure to get a quadcore (q6600) and radeon hd 4850 graphic card. I dont know much about overclocking but am open for it (if it is easy). Here's wat I got so far for my components I still need advices for others.

Processor: Intel® Boxed Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600 $190

Video: ASUS EAH4850/HTDI/512M Radeon HD 4850 512MB ($200 -$30rebate)

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST3500320AS 500GB $85

Memory: CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) $90 - $20rebate

OCZ Reaper HPC Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB)

DVD: LITE-ON Black 20X DVD+R $30

Motherboard: _________Please suggest, how about
GIGABYTE GA-EP45-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

ASUS P5Q-E LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

Case: _____Please suggest, i was looking at rc690 but i dont like the usb port on top, but am looking for that $80 price range

PSU _____ Please suggest, i see a lot of ppl get corsair 650tx or corsair 750tx, which one fit my need?

am i missing anything else?

alright thanks shadow, i'll go with ur suggestion on the RAM, PSU and HDD.

question though. is munskin memory good? the name sounds wierd.

I dont plan to crossfire at all, so i guess the board above is ok?

now am really debating between antec 900 and rc690. antec 900 seems like a nice case with the lights and stuff, but am afraid that it will be a dust collector. anyone has experience with the antec 900 or rc690 please share

Thanks all.

Mushkin is some of the best memory you can buy. Solid high quality RAM.

No CF- that motherboard is fine.
