hey guys I need a little help and id appreciate it if someone could lend a hand.

I recently purchased a DFI DK 790fx-m2rs to use with my 9850 B.E. 4870 crossfire setup, I popped everything in and was highly disapointed with the performance I was getting with crysis/warhammer online (1600x1200 res high settings). This setup should be able to easily power through these resolutions (unless im wrong). currently there is a setting for gen 2 fast mode on both slots that says disabled and the pci e wattage is set to 75 watts (seems kind of low) any help would be apprecisted

Hello!

I'm not very familiar with crossfire setups, but I can definately tell you that it isn't a suprise for Crysis to run so poorly.

Here is some info for you on that particular game and why it runs like poo on most machines:
When Crytek were initially developing the game engine, they were developing it based on how they perceived Direct X 10 would work and how it would possibly be structured. They had near completed the game before DX10 was available to most developers and so, unsurprisingly the graphical software support for the game was very poor. I am running a crazy Triple SLi rig (3 X GTX280's) with a QX9550 and 8GB of DDR3 - but I still can't achieve Crysis with everything on max above 22 FPS but that's on a 1900 X 1200 res (24" ).

However, I just purchased Crysis Warhead, and Crytek has made the most of DirectX 10 improving software support for Cry Engine 2.0 and it runs like a dream. Same looks with a much higher frame rate!

All I know about Warhammer online is that it hasn't got the best graphical engine anyway, and that WoW is still graphically better - so I wouldn't be too suprised with that one. I heard the game is sh*t too! lol

If you wanna test out your rig, try 3D Mark 06/Vantage, Crysis:WH, FSX, Assassins Creed or even Rainbow Six Vegas 2. They are great games to show off some of that great graphical potential.

I dont have that MB or Bios, but I would think that the setting "gen 2 fast mode " should be enabled as you are running 4870's which are 2.0 Pci e cards. I would try switching it and then run your benchmarks again and compare.
