The $30 is not rebate, its instant.

$309
- $30 instant
- $10 rebate
- $25 promo code
= $244.99

Is it really that difficult Homer?

Not sure how the OP gets $225.

To believe yes. The price as fallen to fast, and too much. Somebody is bleeding money.

It looks like its a good time to build a new system.. I will here in a few months. Ive been saving up for a 2.66 Nahalem and not sure which card. But Man ...

Gotta love these price wars!

I will wait until Halemie is out and wait for reviews and charts to update to see which cpu/gpu combo is the best bang for my buck..

I just hope deals like this are still out there when Im ready to build. I know I will need to save some money on the video cards because DDR3 and the new cpu/mobo s will cost a lot

Okay I see now, there is a $30 instant discount which makes the price before rebates $279.99. Then there is a $10 MIR rebate on Newegg, bringing it to $269.99. The slickdeals thread adds another $30 MIR which makes it $239.99, and the promo code thing knocks off another $25, bringing us to a grand total of $224.99... wait no... **** :)

Oh, maybe the $30 MIR replaces the $10 one on Newegg. Yes, that seems logical.

OP just got it from the front page and posted here without doing homework :(

It would appear that Slickdeals is under the impression that the $30 MIR takes the place of the $10 MIR + Promo code=225 bucks. I dunno. Buyer beware, the $30 MIR is unlisted on Newegg right now, the claim could be rejected, though the deal seems legitimate.

EDIT: Here's the link to the rebate for 30. http://images10.newegg.com/uploadfilesfornewegg/rebate/SH/EVGA8MIRsJul8Jul3108tl24.pdf It lists several EVGA models as eligible, including the 260 SC.

Wrong about what? I was right on.

$309
- $30 instant
- $10 rebate
- $25 promo code
= $244.99

I always admit when Im wrong.
Hmm, I think it works like this:

$224.99
■$309.99
■- $30 instant
■- $30 MIR from slickdeals (takes the place of the $10 MIR on Newegg)
■- $25 promo code
■= $224.99
This is assuming the $30 MIR from slickdeals doesn't stack with the $10 MIR from Newegg, and of course that the $30 MIR is valid...

Yeah, MIRs suck ass. I don't even take them into consideration when making purchases. I'll send them in, but I count it as a pleasant surprise if I ever see a dime out of 'em.

I tried 30 min ago and it worked fine. Now it is no longer working...

I am waiting on a refund that was supposed to post by today... and I was going to pick this up... :(

Well... I guess I will be picking up a 4850 like I originally planned.

Profit margins to GT200 are very low due to competition from ATI. I read it somewhere.

$249.99 for an overclocked GTX 260???!!

I'd hit that.

Yeah but for ~$160 I can get a 4850, save $90 and be very close in performance. The extra $60 was on the edge for me but with it being EVGA I would have paid the "premium".

It's just not worth a $90 more, for me.

The OC 260 is much closer to a 4870 than a 4850 though.

The 4850 is great for the price, but the GTX260 is substantially faster. I also have much respect for its low idle power consumption and dual slot cooler. The GTX260 was inconsiderable at its original price point, and questionable even at $300, but for $250 it's a hell of a deal.

I have to agree with that, but i already have my 4870.
