Now the highest I've had it was 3.54Ghz stable. The slowest I've run is at 1Ghz. And the Normal I run it at is 3.2Ghz ~ 3.45Ghz. Now im wanting help getting the highest stable clock I can. I've seen and heard that I can get to 4Ghz Easy with my setup. But at 3.6Ghz I get BSOD. Which It dont bother me any. Now what can I do to get a bigger overclock, with what im using.
4.0 Easy, with an Athlon 6400 ? I don't think so. 3.6Ghz is a good overclock for that CPU, but past that it just depends on your CPU sample. 1.5v is high for that CPU. Anything more than that will greatly shorten it's life span. Also, you don't want to go over 60 C (think the max is 63).

The MB is AM2, and the I've tried the highest Voltage Setting on my MB and still no luck. My normal Voltage lvl is 1.325~1.45 and I used CPU-Z to make sure it was at that lvl to what I set it at in the Bios. The Temp never gets above 59c. When I first set my pc up it would never get above 30c. Now I wonder what is making it go up. Maybe the thermal paste is falling apart or something.
I thought if I wanted to get 3.6 or higher I would need to get water cooling and lap the CPU and water Block for a better than normal surface. But as I already know im going to have to spend quite a bit on a water cooling setup. Only problem is that this PC is used at LAN Party's, and I move it around so that I can clean it. So water cooling is out of the question as of right now till I get a newer one.
Well I guess my next question is for what I do which is pretty much gaming, should I just get a quad core or just keep my CPU and invest in a better GPU.
