I've been searching around the internet trying to find an answer for a month now with no luck so I decided to ask on a forum.
My problem is.. whenever someone on my network tries to stream a video it would significantly slows down my internet (from 10ms ping to 800ms ping or higher). There is something I dont understand, if I try to access the same streaming material on a wired connection, the internet speed would still remain fast (below 15ms ping).
Why is wireless internet take up more bandwidth than wired? Is that a hardware configuration issue? How can I fix it?
Wireless had less bandwidth than wired usually although I do not think that explains it all. I t may also be that a wired port is sectioned off as it were whereas all wireless signals go to the same point and have to be seperated and perhaps there is a problem with scheduling of packets or something, don't know the ins and outs.
I have this problem myself but due to not having a router at the moment which can limit the usage of other people, I believe it is called QOS(quality of service), I suffer from bad pings.
Bar geting a router with the the ability to aportion the bandwidth I do not know a way to fix it bar as I do, enabling mac address filtering to block the other comps.
