Hi, everyone. I've built a computer on Asus Striker II Extreme and have bumped into a slight problem. As it is written in the specs (Striker II supports 8Gbs') I've purchased 2x(2x2Gb) OCZ DDR3 10666 (1333MHz) memory. But computer boots only at upto 6Gb (eg 3 cards installed). At the installation of 4th it stuck with CODEINIT error, which dissappears as I take off the 4th card and boot again. Memory in BIOS is set to 9-9-9-20 at 1.70V as said in manufacturers site.
Asus Striiker II Extreme + (4 x 2Gb) OCZ DDR3 PC3-10666 = CODEINIT Error Asus Striiker II Extreme + (1 or 2 or 3 x 2Gb) OCZ DDR3 PC3-10666 = Normal Boot
Try testing the memory sticks one at a time, I'm not sure what that error means as I have never seen it before, but it might be that one of your Ram sticks is dead.
I agree with orederchaos, try each ram stick one at a time and see if any of them are dead. The CODEINIT error usually happens with a failed overclock or incorrect settings ,but when ram fails you should actually be seeing the DET RAM error on the LCD poster.
Have you overclocked it or changed any of the bios settings for the memory? If so try using the default settings and try again. Update the bios to the latest 1104, as it has improved ram compatibility. I find myself using the OCZ ram on this board abit tricky, doesnt seem to like them that much.
