My desktop looks perfectly fine, but if I click proprieties and go to screensaver this is how it looks :

see that pink frame around the monitor? well about 3 days ago that thing wasn't there I'm not sure when it happened because I haven't been playing on this laptop for a while just listen to music and watched some movies
This is how it looks when I try to play chessmaster grandmaster edition

But when I try to change the chess set this is what happends :

And about any game I try it's all the same.
I've tried reinstalling the drivers that came with the computer but nothing.I even got the latest ones and still no change.
Also when I reboot the computer on the windows logo I see different colloured stripes.
I don't think it's the monitor since it works perfectly fine with movies and such but when I try to play a game it's like that.
Even when I try to copy something from a place to another on the copying window I have this weired striped background.
My graphics card is an Ati Mobility Radeon x1400.

Now my question is : WTH happened :/ and how do I fix it

Tnx in advance for your help

^ wrong

its a driver issue

try rolling back drivers if you have the newest one and if you don't have the newest one make sure to get it

Well now. I tried it again. I uninstalled the driver installed the older one (that worked till now just fine with all the games).
I got the newest drivers but when I tried to install em it said it can't be installed on my sistem, now I'm pretty sure I got the right one but I have no idea why it didn't work

:/
Ah yeah and when I unistalled the drivers the striped I was talking about appeared clearly
