Hi guys
Just placed an order for new machine for photo and video editiong
Stretching my space (under my desk) and budget
I listed
Q9450
Asus P5Q
8Gb Kinston DDR800 RAM
Vista 64bit
WD 640GB harddisk x5
LG DVD writer
Cooler Master CM690
Saphire 4850 512Mb graphic card

Is anything room for improvement?

I like all your choices. The HD 4850 is wayyyyyy overkill for photo and video editing - but hey! A guy's gotta relax now and then [:wr2:5]
Be sure to let us know how everything turns out. Pictures of the complete build are always a nice way to say thanks for the help.

Very nice build.

It would work even better if you add a PSU, I think. :)

The motherboard is a good choice as long as you're not planning to add a second video card.

Why are you asking AFTER you bought?

Thanks for the kind words.
I encountered problems using Kinston RAM so I have been wondering if changing the mother board or RAM will solve the problem
After all I eventually change the RAM to an ADATA modules and the motherboard to P5Q delux

:D Problems

1 The machine cannot boot up with Kingston RAM and using ADATA does well

2. Video conversion was so slow until I installed a patch to enable the AVIO in catalyst

3. Network transfer was sooo slow till I changed to a gigabyte switch box and bye bye my ten year old 100MB hubs.

Everything looks fine and smooth underneath 64bit OS :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
