Alright, this is a 2 part question so bare with me :)

First, i'm wanting to sell my old rig but I don't know what to ask for it. Most of it is over 2 years old. It used to be overclocked, I got the cpu up to 2.4ghz and the ram up to 433 but then the cmos battery died and lost bios settings. here are the pieces with links to newegg

AMD Athlon +3600 2.0ghz dual core socket 939 (yes i know, last of its kind, cant find link)
zalman 9500 HSF

Asrock mobo (apg/pci-e slots) 4xddr400 slots 3 pci slots 939 socket
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157081
4x512 OCZ ddr400 ram (2-3-3-6 timings i think)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227031
nvidia 7900 gs 256mb ram 256mb mem interface 500mhz core clock
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130056
sony dvd burner (does everything but hd dvd and bluray)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827152076

So could someone give me a ballpark range for a pricetag? Thanks

Also, buying a new system and I would like some advice on the parts im buying, or recommended parts because im not too sure on these yet.

Gigabyte mobo am2+ socket 4xddr2

Diamond radeon hd 3870
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814103050
gskill 2x1gb ddr2 800
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231098

Any recommendations for other parts/brands that i would be better off with?

Thanks for the help

as far as your old rig goes, take it apart and sell the pieces individually on ebay or something. you should be able to make far more money that if you sell it as a system. i can't see people wanting to pay more than $100 (if even that) for it.

as for the new system, if you wanna stick with amd, that's fine, but intel would give you more performance overall. (but personally i use amd). also, forget the 3870. get either a 4850 or 4870. both will perform far better than the 3870. the ram looks fine.

this would probably be a good cpu for you, unless you need more speed or plan on overclocking

PSU:

the only other things you would still need are a case, and an OS if you don't plan on reusing one you already have.

I'd love to go Intel, but i'm on a slight budget and I've always had an AMD cpu. Another reason why I decided to get the 3870 was because of the $50 difference of the 4850s. I already have a cpu, case, OS, psu, and such picked out. Just the 3 parts i listed i was indifferent about.

How's the mobo? I also got it because of its price, however Gigabyte is a good brand.
