How do i link my laptop to my pc by usb to usb

Hello,
i have a usb to usb to copy files off my note book and put on my laptop but when i plug them in nothing happens what do i do??? please help!

You need to go into Control Panel>Network Setup Wizard and follow the instructions. When offered the option to create a CD just opt for "I don't need one - I'll run the wizard on the other computer" do exactly that. Restart them both and you should be up and running but it would be more straightforward if you have a Cat 5 cable and ethernet connections on each machine.
