I just bought this for gaming just to temporarily get me by... will it run CS:S or COD4 pretty well? Im a comp newb. thanks guys

CPU doesn't matter so much -- the key is your graphics card. It'll help next time if you give a more descriptive title, too.

GPU matters more in COD4, not so much in CS:S, but somewhat.

I can run both those games on my Athlon XP 2800+. You're fine.
