How do I know if my 9800GX2 is getting the power it needs to run correctly from the PSU? it has the green LED lights on, but its been having problems and im wondering if its the power supply. This is the power supply I have.
This card requires 35 amps in the 12v rails, does that mean 35 total? as in all 3 of the 12v rails added together on the PSU? cause that PSU only does 18 in each 12v rail
That PSU is way overkill for that card alone. I have a thermaltake toughpower 650, and it powers 2 9800 gtx in SLi with no prob, and they consume way wore that 1 GX2. You've even got 100 watts more, and probably more amperage. Try another solution If your STILL worried, try buying a voltage monitoring tool like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6882715001. It'll prove that your not consuming close to what that PSU can do. Oh, and your PSU is supplying a total of 60 amps across the rails, see here: http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/Prod [...] 64&ID=1502.
