I recorded all these races yesterday so I could watch them today. I get
home, theres only 12 recordings, 16% space used. Where the hell did my
other recordings go?

I am having trouble with mine as well... it just started happening after a
software load last week.

The GUIDE says it's recording and the show is highlighted red but the red
record light on the box is not on. And afterwards, the supposedly recorded
show does not appear in the previously recorded list.

I have even had it record things that werent scheduled, and it wont let
me stop it. This is nuts.

You two might want to invest in a D-VHS VCR until HD-DVD comes out.

no... because when it is working (which was all the time before last
week)... the HD-PVR is GREAT
