What do you guys think? I'm trying to keep the cost as low as possible without sacrificing too much quality or power. Gonna use it for gaming, watching movies, music, etc.
Any tweaks you see to make it cheaper or whatnot? Trying to stay around ~$600, the less the better
i would suggest that you put a 120mm fan in your case. i believe there is room for one on the door. other than that im quite impressed. thats a vary nice build for only 600$.
Get a WD6400AAKS instead of the WD5000AAKS, even if you don't need 640GB. It's much faster.
Normally I'd say get a SATA burner, but I guess IDE is fine if it's cheaper, with such a tight budget.
I'm staring in shock at the motherboard. I didn't know anybody made motherboards with 5 (FIVE) PCI slots. Looks good
Definitely add a fan there. Maybe save some more and pick a different case. That case has a single 80mm fan, and the eVGA 8800GT is hot and has a single-slot cooler that leaves the heat inside the case.
Edit: try buying a case from a local brick-and-mortar. Newegg will charge you $20 shipping on a $30 case, and that just ruins the deal.

SATA means a narrow cable, it doesn't block airflow, it's easy to handle, and there are no jumpers to worry about. IDE has the same speed for an optical drive, but the wide cable and jumpers are a pain.
