I currently have a 2.0 ghz Core 2 Duo T7200

is it possible to upgrade my CPU?

also, would it be worth upgrading, and if so,what are some good options (like what is the max upgrade and 'best value' upgrade?)

Be awesome to throw something around 3 ghz in this thing,if it the price is right.

I doubt it's soldered. However, notebook CPUs tend to be fairly expensive to upgrade, and I wouldn't say that it's worth it. The highest you could upgrade to would be a T7600@2.33GHz, but those cost just a bit...

The only other option that would fit would be a T7400, which is a lot of money for a 160MHz speed bump.

geez, why are they so expensive? I realize that laptop components are made smaller and are generally more expensive, but that much?

Are the socket M processors getting phased out by the socket P's?
