Hello,
My external Hard drive on button is blinking red/blue. Tried to access the files and get a error message stating no drive J available. Have I lost everything?

Not necessarily. Switch it off and let it cool for a while. Restart the computer and try it again. If it still fails, remove the drive from the caddy and buy or borrow a converter to see if it's the caddy which is at fault.
