My conputer won't read or write from my drive. Is there a driver out there that would fix it. It seems like I need to buy a new drive every year!

Are you talking about your optical drive? If so, what is it exactly? Have you also made sure you connected properly to the mobo?

You don't need a driver for a DVD burner.
I would check the drive with a utility like Nero DiscSpeed or Opti Drive Control. If that test fails your drive is probably dead.
