I am connecting a corsair 750watt PSU to my Gigabyte GA-x48-DS4. I will be running a Q6600 processor and plan to overclock eventually.
I have connected the 2x12 power connection, but how should I connect the other connector to the mobo? The manual states that 2x4 is certainly for use with an extreme processor 130watts or more. There is a removable cover over half the pins. My PSU can accommodate boards with only a 2x2, but should I use the full capability of the PSU and do the 2x4? I am worried about over powering my processor or something, but I dont want to not take full advantage of my PSU.
All thoughts on this will be helpful.
