With the recent blow out from the whole NVidia Ati fiasco I managed to cancel my order. Thank christ cause I had ordered the 280GTX at the original price and did not expect the 4870 to be so damn powerful. I have been told... screamed at, insulted for even considering the 280GTX.

I was glad to pay more for the best video card but given the ATi power of 4870 ... I dont think the
gtX280 is the clear best anymore.

SO now I have to quickly let them know what I want to change...

I am thinking of buying the 4870X2 next week when it comes out.

As far as I know... does that mean I dont need a Xfire or SLi motherboard?

I am going to upgrade my PSU to a 750W corsair
and the P5e Deluxe motherboard

The computer already includes 4gb ram, E8400

Does anyone know if that will be ok... the motherboard and PSU for the 4870X2 card?

can the p5e Deluxe motherboard even run Xfire or sLI?

yes sure the p5e Deluxe has an X48
its an crossfire board
but you also don't need an crossfire board to run the 4870X2
the p5e Deluxe will run with two 4870X2
but in this case you may consider change the 750W corsair

for better crossfire i go with with P5Q-E
for my future board i will go with this P5Q Deluxe
i am sorry if i didn't help that much
but they are almost the same just the layout are changed and the heatsink
and i hate asus naming schema
