my secondary hard drive disappears after sleep with new install of win 7

Here is a possibility. When your system goes to sleep, the drives shut down, when you wake it up Windows 7 starts looking for drives. If your secondary drive is an older IDE drive, or if it's starting to fail, it may not be up by the time Windows 7 looks for it.

When you restart the system, does the BIOS find the secondary hard drive? or does it just report the primary and you optical drive?
