Hi everyone,

I am a MAC user, can anyone give me suggestions on the best NAS currently on the market that can go with my MAC?

Thanks

Any modern NAS will do (all normal NAS can support Samba protocol, which is used with Mac OS X just fine).
If you need something more specific, please include your budget and requirements.

Hi HappyBison,

MAC OS X use Samba? I thought it uses AFP??

My budget is around $200~300 US.
2 Bay or 4 Bay - Must be able to support both 3.5 and 2.5 HDD
Must have good multimedia compatibility to stream videos with my PS3 and XBOX
Enough USB ports for expansion, for my printer and to copy files from USB disks etc...
Most importantly, it must be quiet, because I am going to use it in my room and my room is very small.

Thank you

If I was you, I would build my own server. Then you get alot of possibilities to change your setup later. It's not really expensive either.

If you buy one NAS server, you are stuck it's drive bays , and the software it got installed etc...

The only bad thing about to buld your own server, is that it can be a bit time-expensive, and mind-blowing.

But after all then you actually learn how to fix your self, and you got a pretty cool project.
