high I have a dell dimension 8100 with a via raid scsi card adapter. I would like to boot my drive off of it instead of the orginal ide controler. dose any one know ho to set that up in cmos. if you can or can't help thanks.

Please let us know what scsi card it is and does it have a bios....

If it has then yes its possible

If not.. then no......

The Via VT6421a is a SATA controller.. Although its recognised as a SCSI controller - a SATA is different..

This Sata controller btw is good for "modding" xbox drives as when googled but as for booting on a Dell thats a different matter..


You could go to dell.com and download the latest bios and see if will add it to the boot options...

If not its either an adaptec or a more bios flexable machine...

It is a Dell, after all.
