i dont suppose n e 1 has fit a thermaltake blue orb II onto a asus p5q pro motherboard? i am just wondering if i would have to move the chipset heat sink or somehow bodge it in.to be honest if i cant just fit it in ill probably get another cooler its just that the blue orb should look aesthetically pleasing in my antec 900.performance is not the biggest issue or sound as i have my q6600 oc'd@ 3.00ghz and with stock cooling it idles around 32c with all my case fans full and an ambient of 24c.loads at max 65c after 24hrs prime 95. cheers in advance
no reason it shouldn't. you may have to clearance the mosfet heatsinks/the heatsink itself. Install the processor, and dry fit before installing any brackets. use a file, dremel and/or tin snips to remove material. Then clean up rough edges and make sure no metal flecks will be blown around the inside of the computer.
Probably dont want to touch the motherboard heatsinks which will void the warranty.
