I'm not sure of the exact terminology, but the auto detection for the phono plugs on my onboard sound continue to tell me that my front microphone is plugged in. I have tried plugging it back in, then removing it, then I tried to reinstall the drivers, reverting to the older drivers that I had never had any issues, and back to new, but none of them work. The motherboard that I am using is a MSI P7N Platinum with Realtek 7.1 onboard. I tried to unplug the front jack connector on the board, but I will try again, as I'm not certain that I did unplugged the right connector when trying that (I know, newb mistake, I was in a rush to get it done, had a clan match)

i dont know for sure but that sounds like more of a physical problem than a software problem .have u got kids that may have put something in the jack?

Yea, it does appear to be physical. I unplugged the front jacks from the motherboard and the front jack is no longer lit, I will have to disassemble the jacks, thank you.
