Hey i wanna output my sound through my dvi to hdmi cord to my hdtv but i dunno how. i have a gtx260, a creative x-fi xtremegamer card, and a hdtv connector. I dont see how the hdtv connector works i read thats how you connect the sound card to the video card, correct? but the cables dont really match up correctly. what do i do?
NVIDIA cards dont support audio through DVI/HDMI...
Your options are as follows:
1) Optical Link or Coaxial link from your PC to your TV
2) Regular audio cable from your sound card to your TV
3) Switch to AMD/ATI video card that support audio through DVI/HDMI.
Its your choice
Just for your reference I use am NViDIA 8800GT. To get audio when i watch Blue-Ray, HD-DVD, DVD, HDTV from PC i use optical link going to my 7.1 receiver. I use a coaxial audio link from PC to my TV.

hope the info helps
I second this, the bare minimum and easiest way is to get a 3.5mm Stereo-RCA cable, pretty cheap and does the trick
