Today is the usual day I get the TV guide for next week, but it didn't show
up. Around a year ago Comcast went with a Nashville-specific version that had
their listings in it. Today I got the old Cable Guide (i.e. Channel Guide)
thing that Comcast used to send, along with an explaination of what happened.
Here's the quote:
"TV Guide has announced that starting in October they are eliminating the
local Nashville/Middle Tennessee edition. As part of this change they will also
be dropping all the local program listings and local channel customization from
the TV Guide Magazine you had been receiving."
WTF?!! So now TV Guide provides no guidance as to what is on TV. So, why
is it still called TV Guide? It should be called "TV WIthout Guidance" or, more
truthfully, "TV Deceptive Guide!"
I've got TitanTV set up on my computer and it gives the listings, complete
with program description (in most cases, which is what TV Guide used to do). So
I'll take my Channel Guide, look through TitanTV for a week in advance and mark
what I want to record/view. I may just end up dropping the Cable Guide and
going with something else.

Cue Bob Miller to follow up and tell us how over the air TV is doomed.

Hermango,
It is my understanding that they will carry the network national
schedules. Also, they are reportedly going to a full page size and
becoming more like a TV "magazine" with more articles and such.
