Im looking at a new build right now and i keep getting stuck on one particular piece, the motherboard. My CPU is E8400 3.0GHZ, and I would very much like to stick with nvida GPU. Im not extremely technically 'aware' about all the hardware / BIOS options and settings.

My question is simple, is there anything thats wrong with the plain old P5Q in comparison to the other Pro, or Delux P5Q boards? I understand that they might come with other features, but are those features that I would even use given my limited knowledge of BIOS settings and hardware? I would like to overlock mildley for increased performance but I would not be looking to set any kind of records. I understand that ASUS mobos come with some easy to use straightforward overlocking utilities which is probably something I would use.

Im primarily using this new computer for gaming as well as video and photo editing.

Any comments, advice, ideas or thoughts are welcome. Thanks.

Just that is made by Asus. Their support is horrible and their boards are failing at a higher rate then they used to. If you have the board already nothings really wrong with em. BTW AI overclock options kinda suck. Its really easy to get a gigabyte DS3 or DS4 board with a P35 or P45 chipset and adjust the FSB speed.

Another quetion, what happens if you use or try to use an Nvidia GPU in the P5Q-E which is a p45 chipset and ATI Xfire ready?

It'll work for any single GPU. If you want to use more than 1 GPU on a P45, you'll have to use ATI cards to enable Crossfire. For the record, P45 chipsets run Crossfire at x8 + x8 speeds.
