I have a Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H motherboard, and I'd like to replace the stock northbridge cooler with an aftermarket NB cooler.

motherboard: http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...ProductID=2758

I think I've narrowed my choices to either the Xigmatek PTR-CN881 Porter, or the Thermalright HR-05 IFX:

http://www.heatsinkfactory.com/therm...et-cooler.html

The Xigmatek has one 8mm direct-touch heatpipe, while the Thermalright has one 6mm non-direct-touch heatpipe, so I would guess the Xigmatek might do a better job. However I haven't found any reviews that include the both of them so I'm not sure.

Between these two coolers, what would people recommend for my motherboard.

use tinyurl to post the links, the forum has a bug where it shortens long links but it doesn't do it properly and you get a invalid link

also know that your motherboard is using a non standard heatsink design for the north bridge, so theres a good chance that they may not fit

and due to their size, you cant use thermal epoxy to attach them either
