I purchased a Lian Li http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6811112130 case that I really like the looks of. I bundled this with a PowerTek 770W ATX PSU.

Plans has been to build a Quad PC with maybe a 8800 GTS video card (around a $1000 left to spend) with the intent of doing a conservative OC on the CPU and RAM.

Problem is, a friend pointed me to the Newegg.com reviews on this case to back up his belief that this case will never be able to handle the heat from a Quad or an 8800 GTS or better card.

Did I waste my money or is this build still salvageable?

Also I would appreciate any advice on what type of Quad / Mobo / Ram that would fit this size case, if possible, without heat problems.

BTW I did find a PCI Slot fan and wondered if that would help.

Any help would be appreciated.

It only has a single 120mm fan in the back. You might want to (if you feel comfortable doing so) cut another 120mm hole in the side, drill 4 mounting holes, then get a metal screen to put over the fan. Otherwise I guess there's only one way to find out!
