Need help finding good hardware?

Hello TomsHardware forum i am looking to upgrade my computer from a AMD Athlon x4600 to a Intel Q6600 which I would like to overclock to around 3.0-3.5 ghz this is the hardware i already have :
Antec 900 case
2 dvd drives
8800 gt
sound card
2 36 gb raptors
zalman 9700nt

So i need the CPU , ram , and motherboard right?
Alright so i picked out the q6600 and Crucial Ballistix 4GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) so can someone recommend me a motherborad sold on newegg.com that is at a good price and works well with overclocking the ram and cpu?

Welcome to the forums!

If your old computer is socket 939, you need new memory. Get 2 or 4 GB of DDR2-800.
For motherboard, do you need SLI? If not, get a P45 motherboard.

My old computer was a am2 motherboard socket right now i was looking at the Crucial Ballistix 4GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) because i have only heard good things about it and i would like to have the feature of sli and my budget for the board is around 230 usd and i am more of a fan of abit asus and evga but i not sure what to purchase still .
Now for overclocking it is very good to have a large FSB right?
 
Get a 750i/780i motherboard for the Q6600.
You would do better with an e8400/e8500 though with the same motherboards.
For overclocking the Nvidia motherboards are not the greatest.
Q6600 overclocks well. Also the e8400 overclocks well.
