With the current deals going on the Antec 900 at Frys and the Antec P180 at newegg (both cases for $70 shipped), I had a few questions.
1.) Both the 900 and the P180 are $70 shipped. Which do you consider to be the better offer and why?
2.) What does a case like the P180/900 offer over a case like the Antec 300? What do you get for paying $20-30 extra (when the cases are on sale)?
3.) I was looking to buy my case within the next 2 weeks. Is it likely I will see the same or better case available for under $70? I have not been following prices for too long, so I am unsure what to expect.
The 900 is a better cooling case for overclocking or the high heat top end graphic cards. If quiet is higher on your priority list, then the P180.
I like the Antec 300, good budget case, a little toned down looks wise from the 900, good cooling, may have to add a fan (they used to come shipped with an extra 120mm fan), not sure if they still do.
That's a good price, may want to spring for it now, check shipping costs though!
As far as I know, the P180 @ $70 at newegg was a one day deal. Check me on that though.
As far as cooling is concerned, the 900 is one of the best on the market.
The 300 is a nice little case, not much in the way of cable management though. Couple of tie downs behind the HDD rack, but that's about it. I ordered mine in July and it came with a 120mm and a 140mm installed as well as a spare 120mm fan that can be put in 3 locations (2 spots in front of the HDD rack and one on the side panel over the GPU). As far as a budget case, it's pretty nice. PSU is in the bottom so make sure your cables will reach.
