Hi, im just having a few issues with my new computer i was hoping someone could help.
Its concerning my CPU mostly, (Q9300 standard clock). When ever im gaming recently, the temperatures go into the 63-70 range, im not sure what the problem is, i can dismantle my fan or post pictures and other information. One of my concerns is the thermal material under the fan, it looks as if its old/used as i had my computer built by a small shop downtown and was unaware of it at the time.
Recently my PC would sometimes just freeze up for a couple seconds however and then all of a sudden reboot.
I have an ASUS P5K-SE motherboard and the Q-Fan utlity does little help.
So, im just wondering about some advice and how i could resolve my problem. Thanks for all input
I would just get a better heatsink. Newegg has open box units. I found mine for only $7 plus shipping. It came with copper heatpipes, and was a screw on type, which is much easier to work with than the push pins. But you do have to remove the motherboard to install them, unless yours is already this type. You can also look at your case air flow, and see if you have any empty fan areas at the front or back of the case.
