I got my monitor set up with my HDTV right next to it using dvi-hdmi cable. i set it to dual view and it works from there. if i open programs or something from my HDTV they automatically open in my monitor. how can i get programs that are on the hdtv to open on hdtv? or do i have to set it as my primary, and monitor as my secondary?

I find that most programs open in the primary monitor unless they are in a windowed mode. Most windowed applications will remember what monitor they were last in.

makotech - there was a great article on www.lifehacker.com entitled something about making the most out of dual monitors. They list several programs to use, including one that sets up the screens into sections, and having specific programs always open where you specify.
