So I installed a new antec earthwatts power supply, and it has a funny smell coming from it. It is almost a mix of burning plastic and the smell you get from an oxygen mask, is this normal?

All new things smell when first turned on..

But the definition of how much smell is obviously stated by the alarm that you have..

I would personally take it back if your not happy with it.

use it for like 1 week max the smell should be gone. dont go and sniff those smell make sure room ventilation is good. those smell from the factory will cause cancer in a long term.

Mmm... new plasticky burning smell. Well it's one of two things, its the new smell and certain factory residues are being burned off, or your power supply is buring up ^_^. Really though it should be gone in two days or so. Check to see if your voltages are flucuating just to be safe.

You get cancer from anything these days.

You get cancer if you stay in your own home and try and avoid everyone and everything.
