i apologize if this is in the wrong section

i just installed only one driver from my motherboard driver disc and it was for the ethernet. the other drivers were SMBus, SW (nvidia storage), and mediashield. im hesitant to install these because i hear mixed reviews about how they cause slowdown and i just went through an aggravating process to get my computer up to its proper speed.
so what do you know? should i install any of those other drivers? are they necessary?

my motherboard is a EVGA 780i SLI

Go into windows device manager and check for conflicts. If none are found (which are indicated by a yellow or red mark next to the device) then you're good to go. Vista will find drivers for most boards except for the newest p45 and x48 boards. It won't hurt to use your motherboard cd drivers, but the latest ones are on the manufacturer's website.
