8800 GTX $189 at frys!!!

Go with the HD 4850. It's faster.

It's also cooler. I was just talking to somebody yesterday who said his HD 4850 was at 62 degrees under load. My 8800GTX was at 72 degrees while just surfing the Web. :(

Hey :hello:,

The 9800GTX is on sale at Tigerdirect.com for $179.99 after rebate (priced at 229.99). I would check that out because it's newer :).
If you are not biased to NVIDIA, I would definately go with a 4850; especially hearing that NVIDIA just stopped production of chipsets .
My thoughts are that Intel Chipsets will not support SLI (with bugs fixed) for a little while.

Best of luck.

Seems like it isnt worth it then. I had a feeling especially because I have an X48 mobo so I can do crossfire.

Thanks
