It's also cooler. I was just talking to somebody yesterday who said his HD 4850 was at 62 degrees under load. My 8800GTX was at 72 degrees while just surfing the Web.
hd 4850 cool? ive heard only one person say that his was cool, and it was on TH... i wouldn't agree with the cool part, unless you were getting one with a third part cooler
The 9800GTX is on sale at Tigerdirect.com for $179.99 after rebate (priced at 229.99). I would check that out because it's newer .
If you are not biased to NVIDIA, I would definately go with a 4850; especially hearing that NVIDIA just stopped production of chipsets .
My thoughts are that Intel Chipsets will not support SLI (with bugs fixed) for a little while.
