Hello
I just bought the following RAM.
4 GB of Kingston HYPER X DDR2 8500 1066 MHZ RAM.
Model # KHX8500AD2K2/4GGR on 2 DIMMS.
I got this at Fry's for $94.99 with a $25 Rebate.
Seemed like a good deal till I got home and checked the latency on this thing.
Latency on this RAM: 7-7-7-20
Kingston Website description:
Description: 4GB 1066MHz DDR2 Non-ECC CL7 (7-7-7-20) DIMM (Kit of 2) Retail
Detailed Specifications: Standard 256M X 64 Non-ECC 1066MHz 240-pin Unbuffered DIMM (SDRAM-DDR2, 2.0V, CL7, Gold)
Mfgr's System P/N's: N/A
Form Factor: Memory Module
Pieces/Unit: 2 (Two 2GB modules, totaling 4GB)
Warranty: Lifetime†
My last RAM was 4GB of Patriot RAM but the latency on it was: 4-4-4-12.
So compared to my last RAM this seems HORRIBLE!! And its actually the worst latency I've ever seen on RAM.
My question is - How important is the latency and will I even notice the difference? I do gaming on my PC BTW.
Thanks,
