So I'm about to be installing a new Arctic Cooling Freezer 7. I have never had experience with push pins before and it sounds like it can pretty difficult to do for your first time. So can any give me a really detailed tutorial on how to do this correctly? Also i thought i read some where that it comes with pre-applied thermal paste. I bought Arctic silver 5, should i just use pre-applied or get some rubbing alcohol and take it off and use the AS5?
Use the AS5. Your biggest issue, depending on your experaince is geting the pins to set all the way in. My best way is to remove the mobo, set the pins and closely inspect the pins UNDER the mobo. Make sure or you might need to remove the mobo anyway if your temps suck. Do it right the first time....................
If the pins is all set the same on all 4 corners your good to go.
Pushing the limits isn't easy, you have to do the extra work.
