The external drive works very well with my computer running XP but doesn't seem to be recognized when I switch to my other computer with Vista. Is there a solution?

There could be a problem with your motherboard ports, so try updating it's drivers.

I'm not sure if the drivers are at fault because the unit works with windows xp but not vista.

The drivers work when used with Windows XP but not with Windows Vista.
