No Graphics Card?

Hi, my simple question is this: Can a computer run without a graphics card? Will it start up? Will it run MS Word etc.?

P.S I mean with no graphics card at all ie. I don't even think it has integrated graphics.

I'm pretty sure the answer is no. motherboards will not past post if there is no gpu detected. I don't know if this is the case for server boards though.

Uhhhh. First of all no.

But second, why on earth would you want to 'run' a system that you cannot see to interact with? What point is there in Microsoft Word if you can't see the screen to type and such? With no built in graphics system, or plug in video card, you can't even attach a monitor.
