Two hard disks in a laptop

I am starting with my 2 disk HP laptop dv8-1080 today 21.11.09. How shall I organise the two disks, anyone?
My idea is to keep Win 7 Ult, Office and My Docs alone on C: and install my photo, audio and video programs and data on D:
Backups on an external USB drive.
Better ideas, anyone?

It's really up to you and how you manage your data. It won't affect anything much.
I would do almost the same (C: is for OS and Program files. D: is for data).
